OpenAI Launches GPT-4.5: Smarter AI with Fewer Mistakes

OpenAI Launches GPT-4.5

OpenAI has just released GPT-4.5, its newest AI model. This version is smarter, more natural in conversation, and makes fewer mistakes than previous models.

What’s New with GPT-4.5?

  • More Natural Conversations: Talking with GPT-4.5 feels more like talking to a real person. It understands context better and responds in a more engaging way.
  • Fewer Mistakes: One big improvement is that GPT-4.5 “hallucinates” (makes up false information) less often than older models.
  • Better Understanding: The AI better understands what you’re asking for and responds more appropriately, even picking up on social cues.
  • Improved Knowledge: GPT-4.5 has been trained with more information and better reasoning skills.

How Does It Compare?

In tests against other AI models, GPT-4.5 performed better in math, science questions, coding tasks, and language understanding. Human testers also preferred GPT-4.5 over previous models for everyday tasks, professional work, and creative projects.

When Can You Use It?

Right now, only Pro users ($200/month) can access GPT-4.5. OpenAI plans to make it available to Plus and Team users next week, followed by Enterprise and Education users the week after.

According to CEO Sam Altman, the slow rollout is because GPT-4.5 is a “giant, expensive model” that requires many GPUs (special computer chips) to run. The company is adding tens of thousands more GPUs next week to support more users.

Developers using paid API tiers can also access the model now through Chat Completions API, Assistants API, and Batch API.

GPT-4.5 works with most ChatGPT features including Search, Canvas, and file uploads – but isn’t yet available for Voice Mode, video, or screen sharing.
